Season 2 - Episode 16 - Bullpen BLOWN Saves
In our 16th episode of Season 2, we are going to talk about the BLOWN SAVES.
I thought about this topic after watching the Yankees BLOW another win late in the game to the San Diego Padres, losing 3-2 on Monday night. Are the starting pitchers contributing to more bullpens imploding? It seems every other game some team implodes giving up 5+ runs in an inning to knock themselves out of a game. Games tied 2-2 entering the top of the 6th inning turns into a 9-3 blowout because the bullpen couldn’t hold the lead. There seems to be a new philosophy in baseball, and I’m starting to think we need to go back to the drawing board.
Starters? What the hell? It’s like a NEW age of what a starter is!
