Derek Shelton, Pittsburgh Pirates

Derek Shelton signed a contract extension with the Pirates last year, but the terms were undisclosed. It looked like Pittsburgh was a legitimate wild-card threat earlier in the season.  However, I was disappointed with the Pirates' collapse in the second half of the season. They were an exciting team, but their offense ranked near the bottom in most categories. This is not a good sign as a young team that finished second in the league with over 1,500 strikeouts. The team needs some veteran leadership. Who is the leader of this team? Is it Bryan Reynolds or Oneil Cruz? Unfortunately, they don't make enough contact and struggle to stay competitive in games.
